Sue, Applications Support Agent
Meet Sue, Applications Support Agent at Bamboo. Read what she has to say on our ongoing “A day in the life” series that highlights popular Bamboo Loans job functions, as seen through the eyes of our employees.
Hi Sue, tell us a bit about yourself, what do you do?
Hey my name is Sue and I work in the new applications team at Bamboo. I’m a single working mum of 2.
So why did you decide to work for Bamboo, and what are your working hours?
My youngest child has recently started senior school so I wanted to work for a company that offers good development opportunities while also allowing me to work part time so I can fit work around my children’s needs. I work 30 hours a week Monday to Friday.
What was your background before you joined Bamboo?
I mainly worked in retail before joining Bamboo and was looking for a change in career.
What are you currently working on?
Still being relatively new, I’m concentrating on giving the best customer service possible. I strive everyday to give the customers the experience they deserve. I have been fortunate enough to be given the responsibility of training new starters, which I have a real passion for and would love to gain further experience in.
What is your favourite part about working with Bamboo?
I love the people I work with! They are the best bunch of people I’ve ever come across. My working hours are the best they can possibly be for me and I’m so grateful everyday that I can still be there for my kids when they need me most, yet have a job that I feel valued in.
Any favourite projects you’ve worked on?
Not yet but I’m very excited for my future here at Bamboo with so many opportunities available for me.
Outside of the office, how do you spend your free time?
I’m a fully qualified spray tanning consultant, nail technician and a waxing consultant. So when I’m not being mum to my kids, I make women (and men) feel great about themselves, this is all possible due to the flexibility I have with my day job at Bamboo.
What would you say to people about Bamboo?
I tell everyone what a wonderful place this is to work and would highly recommend the company to anyone looking to apply for a job here.
What are your top tips for being successful in the working environment?
Be a team player is the best advice I can give.
